Friends

Danielle, Hunter, Dominic and Miah came to play all the way from Florida. Ryan was totally stoked that Hunter was in town- since he hasn't see his best friend since January. We have really missed them! All three kids spent the night one night too!

Making Cookies!

Earlier today the boys were sitting in the rocking chair together watching Cheaper By The Dozen 2 (they love that movie) and they were being so quiet and content that I couldn't resist taking a couple of pictures of them! Later Ree Ree came over and we made Valentine sugar cookies!!!! YUM! Don't the boys look cute in their aprons and hats?

Winter Fun at the Hamilton's

Today Ryan (green coat/camo coat)and Fred (blue/red pants) skated on our own rink and then went over to Kevin and Trisha's to skate. Landon and I tagged along and just watched. We had fun but Landon and I had to leave because he was starting to get cold. Kevin (in camo jumper) had a bunch of his players at his house from Coopers hockey team and they all were having a great time! Cooper (orange hat) got hit in the knee with the puck and Fred took a puck to the shin but that was the worst of the few injuries! Thank goodness! I need to invest in some ice skates and get Landon out there! He wants me to skate with him, his little skates are so cute!. Maybe this week I will get a pair! I also included a picture of our house. ****Update- we went outside last night and Fred, Ryan and Uncle "B" (neighbor) skated. Landon, Aunt Danielle (neighbor) and I watched and then Landon got out on the ice minus his skates. He laid down on the ice and said he was the puck and then Uncle "B" used his stick and pushed him into the goal! He shoots, he scores! Cold but fun!**** Check out: http://thebatavian.com/ to see Kevin's ice rink write up online!!!! Awesome!

Weekend Fun

Last weekend we went to the Holiday Inn in Rochester to have a weekend get away. Before we could leave Batavia, Ryan had a friend birthday party to go to at Main Street Pizza where they got to make their own personal pizzas. The cake was amazing, a very big Sponge Bob. Ryan had lots of fun. We then drove to Rochester, got checked in and went swimming. The boys loved being able to swim wherever they wanted in the pool because we basically had the whole pool to ourselves (only two other little kids were in the pool- family on deck). Then we went to get ready and went to dinner. We were going to go to Red Robin but it was soooo packed we decided to go shopping a little and then go back. Well, the waiting didn't work so we promised the kids to come back the next day and we went to McDonald's for Landon and Panera Bread for Fred, Ryan and I. It was so good, if you haven't been there I recommend the Broccoli Cheese soup- yum! We took the food back to the room and turned on the television and ate. Then we watched Kangaroo Jack! Funny movie! Then the kids and Fred were sleeping so I decided to turn the lights out and get some sleep. The next day we got up and went down to the complimentary breakfast- eggs, waffle, hash browns, sausage, bacon, cereal, toast, bagels, english muffins, yogurt, danishes, juice, hot chocolate and coffee- it was a decent breakfast. Thinking about it makes me hungry- I love a breakfast buffet! Then we went and got ready, checked out of the hotel and went to the Seneca Zoo. Although it was still a little chilly- we had a great time at the zoo. We got to see Ryan's favorite- Rhino's, they were just huddled together inside together. The elephants were playing outside and so was the new polar bear- Zero! Zero is new to the zoo in hopes of him snuggling up with the other female polar bear and having some bear cubs!!!! I hope it works out! I would love to see little polar bear cubs! Last year when we went to the Buffalo Zoo there was a baby Rhino- so, so cute! Anyway, Landon got to see his favorite- the hyenas! We had a great time at the zoo! After we left the zoo we headed to Red Robin! The boys love Red Robin!!!!! Then we went a little shopping and came home! I really enjoyedcour weekend get away!

Ice Cream Social at Ella's. Kennedy, Cooper, and Ryan went to Ella's to play with some of Ryan and Coopers friends from school. They played in the slip and slide and made ice cream sundaes and wacked a pinata! It was so much fun!
Later, Fred, the kids and I went for dinner with Nana and Papa at the race track. Ryan wanted to see the horses race. When we were done with dinner we saw one race and then had to leave because the boys were up to no good........

July 4th Fun!

Fun was had by all at the Merkle house on the 4th of July. We had a cookout, and of course we probably all indulged in way too much but hey don't we owe it to ourselves on the 4th? Then we all went on the four wheelers and into Kevin and Trisha's jeep! The mud was flying and the giggles could be heard by all. Even Landon kept saying more, more (he woke up this morning with mud in his hair)! The kids got to have sparklers, sometimes more than one at a time, which in the end does have a better show than just one sparkler. Then Jeff and Shery started the fireworks! What an excellent display, even their neighbors thought so! Both Ryan and Landon fell asleep on the way home and that was a wonderful thing! Happy Birthday America!
