Ryan the Skater

Ryan has decided that skating is actually a great deal of fun! In the last week he has gone 4 times. One time he went two times in one day. We are hoping that our own ice rink will be ready by the weekend, we will keep our fingers crossed. I am including a couple videos of Ryan and a picture of Trish and Kenvin's ice rink at their house (they are in random order....).

Ice Rink

Since Trish and Kevin have their own ice rink....Fred thought we should have one also. He and our neighbor Chris ("B") have worked on it for two days now. First phase was to snow blow the side yard, Phase 2 was to lay down the huge blue tarp and water it, Phase 3 was to put boards around it and plastic down over the tarp and start filling it up. Since the ground is so uneven they are filling it and then letting it freeze and then filling it more to try to make it even- I hope that it works! It has been fun watching from inside the house since last night it was 5 degrees outside and this morning it was even colder.... I am not complaining though- the cold really hasn't bothered me as much in the past. Maybe I have just come to realize that it really isn't going to stop snowing or get any warmer by complaining, I just have to ride out the winter months until Spring comes.... Of course now that we are putting an ice rink in I hope it stays cold for awhile. Ryan and Landon are ready to go out and use the rink, they don't understand that it isn't ready now.... freeze water freeze!

Christmas 2009

Christmas morning started at 7:30. We got up and the boys were so excited that Santa had brought presents. Landon couldn't be stopped, he wanted to open every single present under the tree. If Ryan stopped to play, Landon was opening Ryan's presents too. Everything was open about 30 minutes later. They played awhile and Fred and I got prepared for breakfast. Fred's Mom, his sister Nicole and her husband Dave, brother Markie, Trish, Kevin, Kennedy, Cooper, Conner, Mom and Dad J. all came for the delicious breakfast. Then we exchanged gifts with Fred's family. Again Landon was a present monster! The kids all got wonderful gifts and the adults too. Thank you everyone! We took our neighbor Josephine breakfast and a present and caroled her! She was very happy. Everyone left and we played with the new toys (I got a notebook laptop!) and then we got cleaned up and went over to Mom and Dad's for dinner and more presents. We had lasagna and salad. It was great along with all the other food that we devoured! I think I have gained some weight-it is the holidays.... Anyway, more presents- Landon BIG Monster! But everyone got lots of neat stuff and everyone is happy! Thank you again for everything! It was a really very nice Christmas!

The Real Santa

The "Real" Santa came to Uncle "B" and Aunt Danielle's house on Christmas Eve. He was able to stop in and see Ryan, Landon and Dominic and Kiera. The whole experience was amazing! As soon as Santa came in the house with his bag full of presents, Ryan was pulling on my pant leg and breathlessly saying, "Mom, it is the real Santa, it's the real Santa." He said it over and over. Landon however could have cared less until....there was a present for him. He didn't go near Santa until that present was displayed, he jumped right up and went to retrieve it, grinning ear to ear. He was then excited, he got books, band aids and a candy bar! Ryan was still panting at my leg and then Aunt Danielle's Mom asked if anyone wanted to sit on Santa's lap-like a light Ryan was sitting on Santa's lap letting him know what he wanted. It was so awesome! I wish I had it all on video! Thank you Aunt Danielle and Uncle "B' for sharing the magic with us!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve! We went over to Fred's Dads and Cindy's house this afternoon and exchanged gifts with them and Paulette, Gordy, Skylar, Rachel, Jeff and Shery. Grandma Cook was there too! We had tons to eat and I am full! Of course it is Christmas time and you just keeping stuffing your face with more food even though you are not even remotely hungry! We had fun and the kids all loved their presents- thank you! Now we are at Nana and Papa's for awhile and then we will be going home and over to our neighbors because Santa is supposed to come see us there! How exciting! Happy Christmas Eve to all!
