Grandma McCarthy

Last Thursday, Grandma McCarthy came to visit us. She came to Batavia and spent the night at my parents and then traveled on to see my Aunt Margy. Let me tell you... my kids and Trisha's two little ones love their Great Grandma. Kennedy refers to her as the "Grandma with the black curly hair," and Ryan calls her, "Grandma Mcarfy!" They fight for her attention and have to show her everything. It is wonderful and funny all at the same time. The kids even talked her into playing Wii bowling, now she only bowled three frames but she tried it. She also let me take a couple pictures of her with the kids too, wow what is next a whole stick of gum? If she is reading this, "Gram, we love you lots and lots! Thanks for coming to visit us! You are the best!"

The Boys!

So when I got home from work tonight Fred had already given the boys a bath and was cooking dinner. That was awesome and yummy! Thank you Fred! So after dinner I just got to play with the boys and relax. Ryan wanted to watch Lilo and Stitch 2 that we borrowed from the library and Landon played with his learning table. I was able to draw Ryan's attention away from the t.v. for a second to sing his ABC's and I captured Landon dancing. They are getting bigger by the day, I wish I could hang out with them all day. Of course my sister Jackie says she is working on winning the lottery to get us out of the snow belt, maybe she will financially support me too so I can be with the kids all day! Maybe Dad will win one of these days too. Maybe I should start playing the lotto too! You can't win if you don't play!!! "Hey, you never know!"

More fun in the snow!

Today Fred picked up Cooper and brought him over to our house to play in the snow with Ryan. They had such a great time. Fred snow blowed snow into two huge piles in the side yard, one to sled down and one to make into an igloo. Fred made another kick butt igloo and the boys enjoyed sledding and making snowmen! Our neighbors "B" and Danielle came over and played in the snow too. "B" decided that he was going to sled down the hill standing up, he basically splatted at the bottom and it was funny. Then he pushed Danielle and Ryan down the hill a couple of times and one time he couldn't stop and followed the sled down and face planted in the snow, hilarious. He of course didn't get hurt but I am guessing he is going to be sore! Danielle also pushed the boys down the hill a couple of times. Thank you "B" and Danielle for playing! Landon slept through this whole fun in the snow day and when he woke up it was his turn to entertain us by marching around with a bucket on his head! The only thing that would have made this day complete is if the Buffalo Bills were actually playing today and finally winning a Superbowl. Maybe someday.....

The Last Five Days!

Since I have neglected the blog for awhile I thought I would post one big message for the week! Some days were definitely more exciting than others! Here we go:

Monday: Back to work for me and Fred is off for a week. I went to work, Fred played with the kids all day. I came home, watched a video with the the kids, ate dinner and then it was time to give the kids a bath, read some stories and off to bed! Whew, I am exhausted!

Tuesday: Today was Ryan's leader day at school. The leader gets to bring something for show and tell and he gets to bring a snack for the whole class. He decided to bring his harmonica to show and play for the class. I wasn't at class yet but Fred said that he played so well and that another student got up and danced. He said that the harmonica was special because he got it from his Dad. I arrived at 9:50 and helped him get ready for his swim lesson. The whole class swims on Tuesdays and I think that this is such a great experience for Ryan. Just this summer he was wrapped around my neck when we got into the pool and now with a bubble on he gets right into the water and kicks his legs. What a turn around. I got to see Ryan and Cooper swim and I videoed it so that Trish could see Cooper swim. Both of us work during the boys school time so we don't get to see them at school. I took a little time off work to go see him today since this week at my school is mid-terms and Regents exams and I am just proctoring. So anyway... I got to see them swim for a half an hour and then helped him and Coop get dressed and got them back to the classroom. They sang grace and then I got to help pass out the snack. They ate snack had some play time and then the school day was over. Ryan rode home with Papa and got McDonald's on the way home.

Wednesday: I got home from work and we made Valentine cookies with ReeRee! All heart shaped cookies. Ryan had fun making cookies, especially frosting them! He liked frosting so much I am not sure what got frosted better, the cookies or his tongue! He also had fun with the sprinkles, one cookie has sprinkles on top of sprinkles. I put Ryan's frosted cookies on a different plate than all the rest because I am positive the only one to eat his cookies will be himself. But he did try and that is all that really matters! Landon only cared about eating the cookies! We finally finished frosting the two double batches and got cleaned up around 10:30. ReeRee then went home in blizzard like conditions! Dang it is cold!

Thursday: When I got home from work, we got the kids dressed in their snowsuits and went outside and played. It was fun and Fred has started another igloo. Landon loved justing sitting in the snow and Ryan kept getting stuck and we had to go get him! It was cold but a good time!

Friday: We went to the library! Ryan got to play with the puzzles and look through loads of books! Landon had fun ripping the books off the shelf, fun for him not so for me. Ryan picked out books and then we left the library and went over to Nana and Papa's! We had a pizza party and played on the Wii. It was fun. I bowled a 201. Much better than I would bowl regularly! Landon fell asleep on the way home and that was a definite plus!

Hanging out with Mommy

Here are a couple pictures of the boys tonight just hanging out with Mommy. We played, ate dinner, read stories, had a bath and had a dance party tonight. Ryan thought he was Kung Fu Panda guy and Landon just stopped dancing, dropped to the floor and posed for the picture, "Cheese!"

Underwear

Ryan has been doing a lot better at making sure he doesn't have accidents in his pants... for the past three days he has said that pull ups are for babies and he is ready to wear his underwear (FINALLY). So... today he went to school with underwear on, no pull up. Fred took him to school and was talking to his teachers and turned around to say goodbye to Ryan and what do you think he sees? No, Ryan didn't pee his pants... he was actually standing in the middle of the classroom with his pants around his ankles modeling his underwear! Nice huh? Fred had to go over to him and explain that although we are very proud of him, he cannot show his classmates his underwear. Ryan thought the whole thing was just too funny, even when I asked him about it before he went to bed tonight, he just giggled about the whole thing. Oh, Ryan...

Thank you Aunt Jackie & Aunt Myra

Ryan and Landon want to thank you so much for the gifts you sent them. Landon loves his Buffalo Bills hat and Ryan loves the Kung Fu Panda Responsibilities Chart. You are the best! Thank you so much! Ryan says, "That was really nice of them to think of me, thanks!"
